Arriving April 16th on the Xbox 360 is Black Ops 2‘s second map pack, Uprising. Part of Uprising is Treyarch’s “most terrifying Zombies map to date”, Mob of the Dead.

Set on a digitally recreated Alcatraz Island, Mob of the Dead features four prohibition-era mobsters, Billy Handsome(Liotta), Al “The Weasel” Arlington (Pantoliano), Salvatore “Sal” DeLuca (Palmentiri), and Michael “Finn” O’Leary (Madsen) who are serving time in the prison only to discover that being behind bars is the least of their problems.

Finally, Black Ops 2‘s second map pack, Uprising, is official. After all sorts of leaks, developer Treyarch and publisher Activision have released a preview for the four MP map and one Zombies map DLC pack.

We first learned about Black Ops 2‘s second map pack, Uprising, when people pouring through code on callofduty.com found reference to the DLC. Now, following the map pack being confirmed again yesterday via a leaked Best Buy retail card, we have a description of one of the multiplayer maps and the Zombies map.

We first learned about Black Ops 2‘s first map pack, Revolution, when promotional material was snapped and put on the Internet before a official announcement was made. Well, today the same thing has happened with Black Ops 2′s second map pack, ‘Uprising’.

Black Ops 2‘s Nuketown Zombies map is coming to the PlayStation 3 and PC next week.

Activision and Treyarch originally planned to release Nuketown Zombies exclusively for owners of the Hardened or Care Package Edition of Black Ops 2. After much ‘feedback’ from the community, Activision decided to make the exclusive Nuketown Zombies map available to any Black Ops 2 player who holds a Season Pass, free of charge.

We’ve had a promotional poster leak, banners appearing early on the mobile version of callofduty.com, and product listings appear on Amazon and HMV’s Facebook page. Now, Treyarch and Activision have broken silence and released a preview trailer for Black Ops 2: Revolution, the first map pack for the shooter.

Activision are yet to officially announce ‘Revolution’, the first map pack for Black Ops 2. Revolution was first confirmed when promotional posters were snapped at a Gamestop store late last month. Then, official assets were discovered on the mobile version of callofduty.com earlier this week, further confirming Black Ops 2′s first map pack, straight from the source.

Now, a product page has popped up on Amazon revealing the official descriptions for each of the four multiplayer maps, the Zombies map, and the Peacekeeper SMG weapon that’s also included – the first time a Call of Duty game has has a new weapon added post-launch.

It seems to have happened a lot with Call of Duty DLC; Activision send promotional posters to game stores before they’ve announced the map pack, someone takes a picture of said promotional poster and puts in on Twitter, and the whole world knows about the DLC before it has been announced. Whether this is a clever marketing ploy by Activision, I don’t know. But I do know that it has happened again!

Back when Activision were ramping up their promotion for Black Ops 2 pre-launch, we learned that a special version of Nuketown – the super-poular multiplayer map from the original Black Ops – would be available as a Zombies map exclusively for those that purchase a Hardened or Care Package Edition of Black Ops 2. Post-launch, due to “overwhelming community feedback” Activision changed their mind and decided that they would also give the Nuketown Zombies map to those that purchase a Black Ops 2 Season Pass – at no extra cost. The publisher didn’t reveal exactly when the map would be made available, though, giving a December time-frame.
