Halo 4 developer 343 Industries are currently hard at work on an update for their sci-fi shooter that will re-tune / balance a number of the game’s weapons. However, the team have got to be very careful when it comes to tuning Halo 4′s weapons because getting things wrong could mean making the whole multiplayer side of the game unbalanced. In order to make sure that they get it right first time, they are taking their time.

343 have been doing a good job so far keeping us in the loop regarding where they are at with the tuning and testing. In the latest Halo Bulletin, however, the developer said that they are nearing the end of tweaking and tuning each weapon and will be inviting a small group of community members into the studio to get a sneak peak at the new changes.

Developer Treyarch has released a new update for Black Ops 2 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Available now, the huge patch brings feature improvements, gameplay balancing, multiplayer issue fixes, and resolves problems with Mob of the Dead, the latest Zombies map (currently only available on Xbox but coming to PS3 and PC May 16).

The developer has also decided to slip a new game mode into today’s patch. Called ’Arms Race’, this new “limited time” game mode awards players 150 score for each kill, meaning they are able to earn Scorestreaks much quicker. Arms Race can be found in the Bonus Playlist.

Halo 4 War Games matchmaking updates continue this Monday with the addition of yet another new playlist. On Monday, March 11, the new “Team Action Sack” playlist will be added to Halo 4′s multiplayer, featuring four new game modes, 4 vs. 4 teams, non-traditional starting weapons and pre-set game loadouts. 

Halo 4 developer 343 Industries have revealed their plans for the games next matchmaking playlist update. On Monday, March 4th, a new ‘Extraction’ playlist will be added to the matchmaking options.

Regular Halo 4 multiplayer participants will know that Extraction is already available in both the Team Throwdown and Majestic Team DLC playlist. Well, now you’ll be able to play just Extraction until your heart is content.

This Monday (2/25) will see the release of Halo 4‘s second map pack, the Majestic Map Pack, and the addition of 2 new playlists for the Majestic DLC and a new free-for-all game type, Infinity Rumble.

Firstly, those that purchase the Majestic map pack might be interested to know how the four new maps will be integrated into existing playlists. Well, wonder no more. Below is a handy list that shows which of Majestic’s maps will be playable in which playlists:

Last week, 343 Industries and their playlist team announced today’s Halo 4 matchmaking playlist update, Team Throwdown. Although they did reveal tentative settings for the Team Throwdown playlist, the developer said that revised settings for the playlist would be revealed before it went live. Keeping to their word, final settings for the Team Throwdown playlist – which is live now – have been posted on the Halo Waypoint forums.

Halo 4‘s weekly playlist updates continue Monday (2/18) with the addition of the “premiere competitive playlist” Team Throwdown.

Developer 343 Industries and their matchmaking team have been monitoring community game type settings and feedback over the past few months, and teamed up with Halo 4 pro players Walshy, StrongSide and Gh057ayame to build the Team Throwdown playlist.

Today’s Halowaypoint post has confirmed the latest of Halo 4‘s weekly multiplayer playlist updates.

This Monday, February 11th, Halo 4 players have two new Halo 4 playlists to look forward to: Team Snipers and Team Objective. There will also be a variant of Team Snipers called ‘Shotty Snipers’.

While everyone has been enjoying this weeks  Halo 4 Grifball playlist, developer 343 Industries have been busy preparing next weeks playlist update. On Monday, February 4th, at the expense of the Community Forge Test playlist, the ‘Team Doubles’ playlist will be added to the Halo 4 multiplayer matchmaking options, offering 2 v 2 action across three different game modes: Infinity Double, Doubles Pro, and CTF Doubles.
