At today’s Xbox One reveal event in Redmond, people in attendance and the tens of thousands watching the live stream not only learned about Microsoft’s vision of the next-generation of home consoles, but also the next generation of Call of Duty – Ghosts.

New Black Ops 2 Personalization Packs

Back in March, Treyarch made new DLC items available to purchase for Black Ops 2 via in-game micro-transactions. It turns out that the Personalization Packs – including weapon camo, three reticles, and a calling card - were pretty popular, because the developer has decided to add some more. This time around, though, you get to choose which ones are made available.

Or, maybe you play games on the PC but haven’t had the chance or inclination to pick up the latest Call of Duty game on the block, Treyarch’s Black Ops 2? Maybe you just like free stuff! If you fall into any of those camps here’s some good news for you.

The Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty: Ghosts has recently been unveiled as the next Call of Duty title, and penciled in for release this November 5th. But, what is Modern Warfare 3 co-developer Sledgehammer Games secretly working on?

Since the studio directed a tweet to Infinity Ward congratulating them on the reveal of Ghosts, at the same time confirming that they are heads down hard at work on their own next project, we have known that they aren’t working on Ghosts. Today, after a tweet from Micheal Condrey, the co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, we know that they are working on a Call of Duty game of their own.

After all of the leaks over the last week or so, and Monday’s ‘Call of Duty mosaic‘ social media marketing campaign, publisher Activision and developer Infinity Ward have, finally, officially revealed Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The Call of Duty: Ghosts leaks just keep on coming ahead of tomorrow’s rumored reveal. Following yesterday’s ‘Call of Duty mosaic‘ social media marketing campaign, and previous rumors of a next-generation Call of Duty engine, is a leaked GameStop poster that reveals the release date for Infinity Ward’s upcoming shooter.

According to the GameStop pre-order poster (embedded below), Call of Duty: Ghosts’ release date is November 5th, 2013.

Developer Treyarch has released a new update for Black Ops 2 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Available now, the huge patch brings feature improvements, gameplay balancing, multiplayer issue fixes, and resolves problems with Mob of the Dead, the latest Zombies map (currently only available on Xbox but coming to PS3 and PC May 16).

The developer has also decided to slip a new game mode into today’s patch. Called ’Arms Race’, this new “limited time” game mode awards players 150 score for each kill, meaning they are able to earn Scorestreaks much quicker. Arms Race can be found in the Bonus Playlist.

After a number of recent leaks suggesting that the next Call of Duty game is set to be revealed on May 1st, Callofduty.com has today been updated with the beginning of the marketing campaign for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Visitors to the page are currently being redirected to http://www.callofduty.com/______ and are presented with a mosaic compiled of contributors’ Facebook and Twitter avatars. You can contribute to the mosaic yourself by adding your Twitter or Facebook avatar to the artwork come marketing campaign, and “take your place in history on the Call of Duty Mosaic”.

Earlier this week, Tesco posted a product listing on their website for Call of Duty: Ghosts, accidentally confirming the title of the next game in the record-breaking franchise. After promptly taking the listing down, the UK retailer is at it again today. A new product listing briefly popped up on Tesco for Ghosts, revealing some interesting new details.
