You Can Now Live Stream Black Ops 2 to Twitch.tv Straight From the Game

twitch logoWith Twitch.tv becoming the most popular video game streaming website over the last year or so, it’s a shame that you can’t stream Black Ops 2 directly to Twitch.tv from within the game like you can to Youtube. Well, actually, from today you can.

Treyarch and Twitch.tv today announced a partnership that allows anyone to stream Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 to Twitch.tv without any extra hardware, straight from the game. You can connect to your Twitch account from within Black Ops 2 and broadcast freely and direct to your Twitch channel. The feature is also webcam enabled for picture-in-picture broadcasting with Xbox Kinect, and you can automatically share your live feed to Facebook and Twitter.

Developer Treyarch announced via Twitter today:

“I heard you would like to stream Black Ops 2 directly to Twitch? We’ll be turning that on today. Watch this space for details.”

Twitch.tv also confirmed the new Black Ops 2 in-game live streaming feature today on their blog:

“We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with Activision and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Starting today on Xbox 360 (and coming soon to PlayStation 3 and PC), you’re now able to broadcast your gameplay directly to your Twitch channel from within the game itself, with no additional hardware or software required.”

With some people not seeing the feature in-game yet, Twitch.tv sent an update out via Twitter:

“Twitch broadcasting in Black Ops II may not be live until 9AM PDT / 12PM EDT. If it doesn’t show up for you, hang tight! It’s oscar mike.”

Here’s a handy video showing exactly how to get Black Ops 2 to stream to Twitch.tv:
